Dr. Udwary serves as a computational biologist for JGI’s Secondary Metabolites group. His research interests lie in use and development of bioinformatics tools for elucidation of biosynthetic gene clusters in bacteria and fungi. Prior to joining JGI, he spent time as a faculty member at the University of Rhode Island, as a Senior Scientist at Warp Drive Bio, and as a bioinformatics HPC consultant with NERSC.
Dr. Udwary co-hosts JGI’s Natural Prodcast podcast, a “fireside chat”-style podcast about natural products and the science and scientists of secondary metabolism.
