For accepted proposals, sequencing, synthesis, metabolomics and analysis will be paid for by the Department of Energy’s funding of the JGI. There is no cost to the user and no granting of funds.

Who Should Apply?

Investigators with research projects that integrate the expertise and capabilities of multiple user facilities

Investigators with DOE mission-relevant projects that call for expansive sequencing, synthetic biology, and metabolomics capabilities

Investigators who have not been a PI on any approved proposal with the JGI

Investigators interested in translating genomic information to biological function

Investigators with research interests that integrate genomics with nanoscale science in the area of critical minerals and materials.

Proposals must be preceded by Letters of Intent and must use a variety of capabilities at two or more user facilities.
