The IAC is chartered by the JGI Chief Informatics Officer (CIO) and reports to the JGI Director. The IAC is chartered to render advice, guidance, and counsel on the effective management and strategic objectives for the JGI’s data science, informatics and information technology (IT) activities and strategic plan.
The IAC serves as the key external advisory panel for the JGI’s Director, CIO, and Deputies. The IAC does not perform management functions, nor does it direct the JGI CIO or the JGI Director on how to operate and manage informatics efforts at the JGI.
