All staff members of the US Department of Energy (DOE) Joint Genome Institute (JGI) commit to Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s (Berkeley Lab’s) core values, which guide the relationships we nurture in our workplace and seek to establish with our stakeholders. The guiding principles for participating on JGI Advisory Committees are outlined in this Code of Conduct.
The UEC represents the JGI user community and is responsible for providing input and advice on JGI policies and practices that affect users and their science including technical capabilities offered, proposal review procedures and the annual user meeting. The UEC also acts as a liaison to the user community and the broader scientific community, and promotes communication and collaboration within the user community.
The SAC is a board convened by the JGI Director to provide a scientific and technical overview of the JGI. The SAC serves as the Institute's key external advisory panel and advocate of the Institute's strategy, operations, and scientific relevance and quality.
The DNA Synthesis Science Advisory Committee is chartered to offer advice, guidance and counsel on the effective management and strategic objectives of the program. The IAC is chartered by the JGI Chief Informatics Officer (CIO) and reports to the JGI Director. The IAC is chartered to render advice, guidance, and counsel on the effective management and strategic objectives for the JGI’s data science, informatics and information technology (IT) activities and strategic plan.
The Plant Program Advisory Committee is chartered to offer advice, guidance and counsel on the effective management and strategic objectives of the program. The committee serves as the program's key external advisory panel and advocate of the program's strategy, operations and scientific relevance and quality.
