Plants are complex organisms that harbor a fantastic diversity of cell types and associated organisms, including fungal and bacterial symbionts, detrimental microbial pathogens, and associated viruses that all contribute to a dynamic ecosystem. We are interested in how plants self-organize, influence, and are influenced by microbial partners. We use a variety of genomics-powered tools to study this complexity, including single-cell and spatial transcriptomics barcode-based genetics (RB-TnSeq), and computational genomics to better understand the plant-associated terrestrial world.
