A persistent problem in plant biology is that the genomes are large and complex due to repetitive DNA. The overarching goal of this project is to get more information out of JGI’s investment in the Plant Flagship Genomes. We have developed tools to reduce the complexity of the genome. The products of this work will enable researchers to study the expression of the entire genome of their favorite bioenergy plant, rather than just the genic fraction.
