Genome Analysis Lead
Dr. Blow joined the JGI in 2009, and currently heads the Genome Analysis group. In this role he supervises the Genome Assembly, QA/QC, and User Support Analysis teams. Together, these teams provide analysis support and R&D for production and user science.
He received his Ph.D. from the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Cambridge University University in 2005, where he studied RNA editing and cancer genetics. Dr. Blow carried out postdoctoral work at LBNL, where he worked on computational and experimental approaches to study genome regulation in human and other vertebrate genomes. When he joined the JGI, he worked as a project scientist and then as a research scientist on projects to develop functional genomic technologies and to understand genome function in bacteria.
