JGI's Simon Roux describes the structure and content of the IMG/VR v3 database (img.jgi.doe.gov/vr), the latest release of IMG database dedicated to viral genomes assembled from metagenomes. He also demonstrates briefly how to leverage novel capabilities of IMG/VR to browse and search through the more than 2 million viral sequences available in IMG/VR v3.
