Sequencing Plans and Progress
The majority of sequencing projects at JGI have relevance to DOE missions. Work arising through the JGI's Community Sequencing Program, much of it directly addressing DOE mission issues, accounts for 60% of JGI's sequencing effort. The remaining 40% of JGI sequencing supports specific DOE programs. These programs include microbial sequencing for the DOE's Office of Biological and Environmental Research (20%), the new Laboratory Science Program (15%), and other work for the DOE Office of Science (5%).
