Mr. Shahab joined DOE Joint Genome Institute in 2012, where he is responsible for leading an effort to develop a platform to support institutional informatics needs. Prior to that he was at the Genome Institute of Singapore, joining them in 2007. He was responsible for developing a LIMS system and a QC pipeline to support next generation sequencing platforms. Mr. Shahab joined Genome Institute of Singapore after a five-year stint at Bioinformatics Institute where he worked on building software solutions to analyze paired end EST data from 454 and Illumina sequencing platforms, there he also led efforts to develop a proteomics LIMS, data management of MRI and microscopy imaging data acquisition systems.
