Logistics

Jamboree Location

The jamboree will be held in Building 100, Room 149, at the DOE Joint Genome Institute, 2800 Mitchell Drive, Walnut Creek. Please check in with the receptionist when you arrive. A shuttle bus will take you from the Embassy Suites to JGI each morning and return you each evening.

Laptops

Participants are required to bring their own laptops. JGI's IT group will give guidance regarding setup at the beginning of the first day's session, but IT cannot provide individual support for personal laptops.

Visitor badges

The shuttle will drop participants off at Building 100. Visitor badges will be issued at the door.

A Note on the Weather

The weather in the Bay Area in April is typically cool and sunny, though there is a small chance of rain. Temperatures average in the mid to upper 60s during the day and the mid to upper 40s over night. Bring a light jacket for any outside nighttime activities, especially if you plan on sightseeing in San Francisco.
